Modern Carpet Styles Popular Today

At one time, just about every new home that was built came equipped with a lovely beige carpet, which was a favorite with designers, since it would blend well with just about any decorating scheme. Thanks to the many choices now available in the line of carpet, many designers often choose the carpet as the focal point of the room, designing the room around the beautiful carpet that has been chosen. Carpets come in many different colors and patterns, which open up many doors for home decorating themes.

While beige isn’t always the color of choice anymore, many people still prefer the neutral carpet shades, to some of the other choices out there today. Berber carpet still comes in many neutral shades, but the difference is now in terms of texture and pattern, more than in color. Even if you choose a traditional neutral carpet color, you will still be able to get a more dramatic effect, thanks to the interesting pattern that the pile and texture make.

Some carpets come in multi-color designs, with a neutral background, splattered with dots and flecks of color added in. This can help add interest to the carpet, so that is a better blend in the room, and it also helps serve another important purpose as well, since the many different colors make stains and spots fade into the carpet much better, so that they are basically hidden from view.

The trend in new carpets is a subtle blend of color, pattern, and texture. With these carpets, stains and dirt are much less likely to be visible, and you don’t have to worry about vacuum streaks either.

With the recent changes in carpets, more and more people are starting to see that their carpet can actually be the inspiration that their room is designed around, which has never before been the case. In times past, the carpet was simply there to accent the furnishings and décor of the room, never really being considered a part of the design plan. But now, all of that has changed!

Thanks to modern technology carpet producers are able to incorporate many new patterns and design elements into their products, thanks to the cut and loop of the yarns that are used. They can make carpets with patterns that resemble lattices, bows, plaids, swirls, and even dots, just to name a few. If you haven’t looked at carpet recently, you should, odds are you will be pleasantly surprised with what you find!

Those designs also help add drama to your room, and go well with many other patterns that you may have in your upholstery and other fabrics, bringing the entire room together.
